Jerk Chicken Anyone?

What a vacation! My husband and I departed on a warm summer's day from Ft. Lauderdale, FL. onto the top notch Celebrity cruise line. This ship was huge, my first cruise so I was stunned. We boarded the ship with ease and settled into our cabin.

The food on the cruise was delicious not like the many horror stories I had heard before. The rocking of the boat was a bit scary at first but I got used to it. Our cruise was set for Jamaica and I couldn't wait. The deck was huge with fun island drumming and sun bather's galore. The drinks were fruity and refreshing.

We have arrived and look at all the people, girls coming up offering to braid your hair so I chose one girl to braid my hair and I paid her $20, she was so happy. Another man approached us and tried to sale us marijuana, we said no thanks but he insisted we take a marijuana cigarette because he said we will want it for our island adventures. So we took it but later gave it to a cool rastafarian guy who looked stoned out of his mind.

The beaches are some of the most beautiful I have ever seen, the water so clear and blue green. Warm water wading is one of the most memorable moments of the trip, so calming and soothing on my tired body. I could have fallen asleep, thank goodness I waited for the sun chairs.

Along the beach, there was a barbeque shack cooking over a wood fire. We decided to stop in and get some Jerk chicken, boy was it spicy but the best I ever had. The conch fritters are to die for.

This was the best vacation I had ever had, the cruise was perfect. Couldn't have asked for more and if you are thinking of trying your first cruise I suggest Celebrity to Jamaica, you won't regret it.

Also I suggest if you get motion sickness to bring alongsome dramamine. The local kids like candy, bring some for them cause they will ask for some and it's just a nice thing to do for the people of this marvelous island.
